Peter W. DeBry, M.D.
Success in glaucoma care requires high standards and attention to details. Dr. DeBry brings these qualities to the Glaucoma Center at Westfield Nevada Eye and Ear with fellowship training in the medical and surgical care of glaucoma.
Dr. DeBry completed medical school at the University of Utah in 1996. At that time, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, an honor reserved for the top students in each graduating class. Next, he spent 3 years in residency focused on all aspects of medical and surgical eye care in Madison, Wis., where he was chosen to help coordinate resident training as the chief resident.
He was one of only 4 doctors in the nation selected for one of the country's top fellowships in glaucoma and eye surgery techniques at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
After working with top doctors and learning the most up-to-date diagnostic, laser and surgical techniques, he taught these techniques to new eye surgeons as an associate clinical professor at University of Missouri. He moved to Las Vegas in 2003 to help provide glaucoma, cataract and refractive lens surgery for patients in Nevada, Southern Utah and Arizona.
As a glaucoma specialist, Dr. DeBry devotes a large part of his time to the care of glaucoma patients with a focus on glaucoma surgery and laser treatments. In addition, he has presented glaucoma research at local and national meetings and has written articles published in national ophthalmology journals.
